RISK-TAKING MISSION PROJECT

The Risk-Taking Mission and Service group are starting a new project - monthly visits to Greeneview Manor, in Xenia.  This is the county-run nursing home, and we are hoping to bring some joy and companionship to the many residents there that do not receive any visitors. We are looking for volunteers, young and old alike.  We hope to do it on Saturday afternoons, as this is when they they have a real need for activities, but this is flexible if need be - they will appreciate us whenever we can make it!!  We can go as a group, or if you wish to go at a time that is convenient to you, you can go alone.  Each resident has a Memory Book (a scrapbook, full of photos, etc)  that the staff have made up for them, to enable you to have something to talk to them about initially.  We are planning to play cards with the residents, simple games, and offer basic manicures and pedicures also.  The options are endless!  We are just looking for anybody who would like to bring a smile to the face of somebody who needs it.  Please contact Kim Lunay at kim@jclequipment.com, or 602-2939 if you are interested in joining us, or learning more.

The chapel at the men’s correction facility in Nelsonville, Ohio needs hymnals for worship. We were able to purchase 80 hymnals with donations from Bellbrook UMC, Common Cup Council and the BUMMs. They will be sent directly from Cokesbury! Thanks for your help!

Don’t forget to get your cookies for Kairos into the office by Wednesday, March 10! They will be picked up that day.

We are increasing our re-cycling efforts at the church. Remember that you can bring in empty toner cartridges and we will get $3 per cartridge for the church at Staples. Now you can bring in your dead batteries (all household batteries, but not big, car size ones) and put them in the black bucket in the office. Maggie Weisman will be taking them to Batteries Plus for us.

I have some HP print cartridges for a printer of mine that died.

HP 97 one new

HP 94 one new

Does anyone at the church need these numbers—or anywhere else for that matter.
